Getting over an ex: New Year’s resolution

Having your relationship breakdown during Christmas or even in the New Year is certainly not something that you are going to forget in a hurry. Breaking up with someone over Christmas will generally have a tendency to spoil the whole of the festive season for you.

Conversely, the best time of the year for getting over an ex is the very beginning of the year. If you find yourself in this situation at the start of the year, then consider yourself lucky (or luckier) than if you hadn’t, because you have one great advantage right now: you can tie getting over an ex with your New Year’s resolution.

With me so far? Then hear this:

Decisions of key importance to behaviour and well-being. Decisions push us forward and make things happen.

At the beginning of the year we all tend to resolve to do better and be better and earn more than the previous year. We buy into the concept of the new years resolution, and since this helps us to achieve things or at least to move toward the things that we want, then it is a good thing.

The bottom line is that during this time of the year most of us have a stronger resolve to achieve something, and if getting all be an ex is something that you need to do right now, then this time of year will give your resolution an extra bit of ‘umph’.
